I Can Hear My Heart Beat
By Kids of the Cocoon

I can hear my heart in the river.
I can hear my heart in blowing pines.
I can hear my heart bristling in the cedars.
I can hear my heart in the cracking sticks.
I can hear my heart in the splashing water.
I can hear my heart in the whistle of the wind.
I can hear my heart in the moonlit lake.
I can hear my heart in the cheeping of birds.
I can hear my heart in the flap, flap, flap of Crowís beating wings.
I can hear my heart in the silence of a butterfly fluttering.
I can hear my heart in the swaying of cedar boughs.
I can hear my heart in the kidsí giggling.
I can hear my heart sing.

A Walk in the Frosty Forest
By Kids of the Cocoon

It was freezing outside ñ as cold as grass under the snow.
Puddles had become ice and the soil froze in big chunks.
A lightning-struck tree bent towards the ground.
The icy creek sparkled with silvery-white diamonds and was edged with shiny crystal shards.
While Linda read Polar Express in our frosty forest circle, Jenny checked the creek for safety, and a dog ran past barking loudly.
Later, careful not to slip on the smooth rocks of the bank, we loved rolling stones over the creekís frozen surface.
